It takes a village. That's why we formed our company in the first place: being an indie author can be a lonely, discouraging journey. But when we join together as a team, we get plugged in better to that life source we call community. The Inklings knew the importance of it, and I (Sarah) would never have finished my own book without the encouragement I got from my writers' group. (Which includes my fantastic editor, Deborah.)

Thinklings authors also unite under the banner of quality. It's time for the publishing industry to reinstate quality of writing as the top criterion for what books get chosen for the market, rather than favoring authors who already have huge social media platforms, or who recycle the same old tropes.

We believe writers are writers, not marketers. And writers should be allowed to write what they want to write, not be forced to fit their work into someone else's box in order to have a chance at selling it. If more new, original ideas were allowed to enter the market, our literary canon would be a much better, more diverse collection.
