COVID-19 Closes Bookstores and Cancels Book Signings; Thinklings Responds

We hope you are surviving The COVID and The Quarantine just fine! We know that all this time inside and with our families can be trying for both introverts and extroverts. Even the Thinklings staff members who’ve always worked from home have had to deal with the upheaval. Jeannie’s learning how to homeschool, Sarah has moved her weekly lunch dates with her best friend (her mom) to online or phone interactions, Ali’s husband is home all the time, Christopher Light's neighbors' children are running wild, Deborah’s quarantine negotiations with her roommates have stalled, and Gene (our extreme extrovert) has started hallucinating parties.

​At the end of the day, though, we all know how to quiet our minds: reading a good book. Thankfully, Thinklings is coming out with several new books, such as The Disposable, which had a great release with some pretty awesome reviews and online sales. Soon, The Land of the Purple Ring will be here.

We’re still publishing completely on schedule, but we’ve had to change a little how we do things for our launches. Bookstores are closed . . . groups of more than two are banned in some places. So, what’s a person supposed to do for book signing events? Well, we’re going online!

Right now, we’re offering anyone who buys an e-book of Bargaining Power, Hunter’s Moon, or The Disposable (or leaves a review) a chance to get a free signed paperback copy of the book. We’ll continue doing this with all our new books coming out through the summer instead of book signings. Once fall rolls around, we’ll reevaluate and do this drawing in addition to book signings.

To get entered into a drawing for a free signed paperback of your choice, all you have to do is: 1) purchase the e-book (or leave a review of it if you purchased it a while back), 2) take a picture or screen shot of the purchase or review, and 3) share it on any of your social media and tag either the writer or Thinklings Books (for The Disposable, with Twitter, you will need to tag Thinklings). We’ll add you to the drawing and will notify you if you win when we do the drawing at the end of every month. Additionally, all upcoming books will have their own separate drawing about two weeks after the book’s release date.

We’ll mail the book to you (after we thoroughly sanitize it) as soon as possible. While none of our writers has contracted COVID-19, nor has anyone in their immediate families, some of them live in areas of bad outbreaks and more stringent social distancing rules. With the delivery of packages being slow and the rules in place, some signed paperbacks may take a little longer than normal to deliver.
