For every book we release, we'll be sure to post a review of it around the time the book comes out. Our next book, The Narrative by Katherine Vick, was published yesterday, November 15th. This review comes from Mark Tolley.
Take it away, Mark. . . .

I absolutely loved the first two books in the Plot Bandits series, so when I finally got to read the third, I was really excited to find out what happens next to Fodder and his motley crew.

Despite the band being separated and either captured, hiding, or headless, they continue to try to best The Narrative. In the process, they encounter a host of obstacles, from bearded Barbarians to troublesome Trappers. Meanwhile, the emboldened Pleasance has the unenviable task of facing down her family and, with the ever agreeable Dullard, leading a rebellion within the Imposing Castle.

As with her first two books in the series, The Disposable and The Merry Band, Vick’s skill in balancing humour with a fast-paced, immersive story shines through here, and we are treated to some of the most laugh-out-loud moments I’ve had at the hands of a novel. However, this installment also ratchets up the tension even more, and I actually felt myself fearing for the characters we have grown to know and love as the stakes climb higher and the risk to their very existence becomes apparent. It gave me that rare agonising feeling of wanting to slowly savour each chapter so that I don’t finish it too soon, as well as being keen to find out what happens next!

Readers of the first two Plot Bandits books will thoroughly enjoy this next chapter in the series.

Our thanks to Mark! You can read an exciting excerpt of The Narrative in Katherine’s blog here. This hilarious fantasy adventure is perfect for fans of Terry Pratchett or Christopher Moore.

The Narrative is book 3 of 4 in The Plot Bandits series, which does need to be read in order. Look for the final installment, The Taskmaster, next July!
